Thinking about Glass Art in Metropolitan Transportation

April 13, 2013 13:00 pm, "Metro Public Art" sub-forum was held at 2nd floor of Triumph Palace Hall C of Gu Cun Park Hotel. Professor Cao Yijiang, Converner of Artistic Disciplines Consultative of the State Council, Dean of College of Arts and Humanities of China Academy of Art, hosted the forum. Peter Kaufmann, Director of Peter’s Studio LLC from USA, made a speech entitled “Thinking about Glass Art in Metropolitan Transportation”.

Mr. Kaufmann said: "This project installed and opened to the public two weeks ago. The project is a transfer station, which connected with railways, subways and bus stations. There are many modern designs in the station. Many of them are glass art works. We also cooperated with lighting designers to finish these works. " In addition, he also mentioned a glass tower design and a public art project cooperated with the MTA. In his speech, he gave us a brief summary of glass design in contemporary architecture and pointed out many opportunities to introduce public art into transport buildings.

Finally, Mr. Kaufmann talked about the connection between contemporary glass art and modern transport architecture.
