  Art Active Space:
Public art practice from 5 meters to 5000 meters

April 13, 2013 13:00 pm, " Post-Expo public art park " thematic forum was held at 2nd floor of Triumph Palace Hall of Gu Cun Park Hotel. The forum was chaired by Professor Rong Nianzeng who is the director of Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture Center. Professor Wang Zhong,vice dean of School of City Design, Central Academy of Fine Art made a speech entitled "Art Active Space: Public art practice from 5 meters to 5000 meters ".

Professor Wang Zhong said: "Public Art in China should emphasis on creating space, motivate space. Public art should be a implanted seed in the public soil to initiate the growth of culture, so that culture has grown nature."

Professor Wang Zhong highlights his 5 meters to 5000 meters of public art practice, including 50 meters diameter red ball Tianjin, 500 meters city corridors in Zhengzhou, 5000 meters shorelines in Erdos and 1000 meters Expo Axis in Shanghai EXPO. "The construction of public art in the city is a kind of social behavior. Art and beauty is not the only goal, but an attitude, a vision, an experience, or even a way of life. Let art to become the city's spirit, make the city full of vigor and vitality, and accumulate city's cultural with innovative value. "
