The spatial memory and cultural context of post-Expo

April 13, 2013 13:00 pm, " Post-Expo public art park " thematic forum was held at 2nd floor of Triumph Palace Hall of Gu Cun Park Hotel. The forum was chaired by Professor Rong Nianzeng who is the director of Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture Center. Ms. Mao Zhuchen, General Manager of Creative Planning Division of Expo Development Group, gave us a speech entitled " The spatial memory and cultural context of post-Expo”.
     
Ms. Mao Zhuchen said: "In the Expo, we explored the theme of the city through our pavilion. We expected everyone could explore the city from a different perspective and understanding and depict our future city. Then, Ms. Mao Zhuchen introduced to the subsequent development of the Expo site has been launched. In the near future, the headquarters economy buildings,five-star hotels and commercial facilities will be erected on the two side of Huangpu River in the EXPO Park.      

She said: " About the post-Expo's public art, personally I wish to see what I have experienced, or the common memory that all visitors had in this city. The dreams and context of the city became some concentrated form and continues to inherit. A few years later, when we come back to this place, a piece of work or a certain form of public art will remind us this interesting event. "
